#write31days – Oct 9 – WAITing for the weekend

Happy Friday!

Anybody been WAITing for the weekend?
Maybe you’ve had the best week ever (or not, a la E!’s former Best Week Ever) but either way there’s something about making it to Friday at 5pm and the collective weekend exhale.
A couple of days with a different agenda, maybe full of family activities, football watching, date nights, errands, quiet time, or _____________ fills your Saturday and Sunday. It’s not always rest, but sometimes in the midst of hectic we are still rejuvenated.
Though I know there are some who dread the weekend and WAIT for it to end. The weekends are hard because maybe life has changed significantly from familiar, the quiet is too much, a feeling of isolation magnifies when there’s no weekend plan. I’ve been in that season and rhythm of Monday – Friday  seemed much easier then the unplanned Saturday and Sunday.
Whichever side of WAITing for this weekend finds you, I hope you find significance in life’s current season.  Though it is hard, full, fun, a favorite, miserable or ______________, you’re never alone in this season.  “If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath” Psalm 34:18 NLT

Take a deep breath and cheers to the weekend!
