2017 Every day. (09.17.17)
I love taking pictures, the every day, the mundane, the big, the fun, the celebrating, even the hard. Images I want to remember. So, this year, I’m documenting my everyday. A photo a day for my FB/IG and then writing the stories of each on my blog weekly.

Sunday the Hallmark Channel released the Christmas movie schedule. I love Hallmark Christmas movies. When it’s dark at noon (just kidding, but that’s what it feels like) I often will turn on Hallmark Channel in the evenings and watch a movie. I mostly took this to save these on my DVR, as I doubt I’ll be watching movies live this fall with my school schedule, but will catch up on them during Christmas break! So, here’s a friendly reminder for you as well. And, PSA, new fall movies release on Saturdays, starting September 23rd. And, they repeat, so we can always catch up!

Monday after work it POURED RAIN. And, that was the first post-Harvey rain which I think stressed a lot of people out. I honestly didn’t look out my window at the Bayou, I am not going to live my life in fear of that Bayou. But, even though it’s raining, Auggie’s gotta potty! 🙂

Tuesday was one of those days. And, this is why I have words around me. Chin up buttercup. Despite what people say and how they treat you. Chin up.
And, I’m grateful for friends who go to battle for you, before you even know what the day would hold. Texts like this always seem to come on days I need them most. I love how God can prompt us to pray for others if we are listening to Him.

Wednesday is also known as “remember that day you forgot to bring your computer to class?” day. ARGH! Too many things on my mind, not the best week ever. Then, I left my laptop at home. For a class that is SPREADSHEET MODELING?!!? What in the heck. So, I came home from class at 10pm and sat down to work my problems while my notes I made in class still made sense.
For a bright spot in the week, I got tickets Wednesday for the 2018 Little Big Town tour! Hooray!

Thursday I had the day off work for a Rodeo Meeting in College Station. Anytime you get to College Station and can make a stop in the Chicken is a good day. I was a little nostalgic about College Station this trip. 20 years ago I was in my final semester of college, graduating and planning to apply to A&M for my Master’s Degree Fall 1998. I moved to College Station in January 1998, which was my first apartment (drove by it Thursday), where I set the smoke alarm off within the first week and learned to live on my own. I love College Station, it’s where I first found my feet out on my own, I worked full time, I joined a new church, I made new friends, I paid bills, I figured out a little bit who I was post-college. Then, I got a job offer and moved to Houston summer 1998 and have been here ever since. I still love College Station and the foundation it gave me. It’s grown so much in these nearly 20 years and so have I.
I also spent the morning (and a little bit of time in the evening) doing a LONG overdue catchup on this little blog. It’s been neglected post-Harvey and due to excessive time on the computer for homework. While writing is an outlet, some days I just need to step away from a computer. I loved having a couple of hours to write in the morning.

Since we started the week off with pouring rain it was good to get out in the sunshine Friday evening. As per Texas Tradition, the first day of Fall was 90+ degrees, but I’ll take sunshine and warm any day over weeks, or months, of snow!! I’m not made for cold weather! When I snapped this picture tonight on our walk I was thinking back to walks last year when Auggie would first see his shadow and think another dog was nearby! So funny! Also, he had to set the dog in the mirror and the glass door reflection straight a few times before it would behave. #sillydog
At the end of our walk I snapped a First Day of Fall pic of Auggie

Saturday night I went to dinner at a local neighbor hood spot that has all of my favorite things…patio with string lights, live music, delicious food (looking at you sweet potato beignets), shared seating and it’s close to home! While the days are still rather hot, it’s been nice in the evening and I love getting to have dinner outside on a patio catching up with a bestie!
