Happy Saturday!

This week was packed, two work events, rodeo meeting, Bible study and I was  glad for a Friday night at home! Of course when there’s a week that feels like there isn’t really spare time, is the week when something unexpected happens that you don’t really have time for.

Hello, Wednesday.
And, my car that wouldn’t start after I had been home for lunch.
Parked in my garage.

Never do I feel more helpless than dealing with my car.
I’m certain I’ve written about that before.
And, here I was having to #doitagain.

Also, I had a work event coming up in the evening and a few final things to prep prior to the event. So, felt like I had no spare time at all.

I called my dad, he gave me a few tips, nothing was working and my portable jump starter wouldn’t start it either.  I called for road side assistance and came in to wait…because they said help would arrive in an hour…

As I was pacing, I was praying. Circling if you will.  Please let this car start so I can go get the battery checkedI can make the time to do that and get back to work.  Since I’ve had a battery issue before and it wasn’t completely dead, I decided to try one more time.  I put on my work gloves and wiggled everything near the battery, any cable/wire or whatever that might be loose that could be affecting the battery to start my car. I prayed again, please let this car start.

I got back in the car, turned over the key, and there was more life than before…I let it slowly work and after a few seconds, it cranked.

Thank you Jesus.

Sometimes I think I need to be reminded of the simple ways to pray and believe that my prayers are heard. I think I do that well for the “big things”, but the inconveniences of life and the seemingly inconsequential – except that I need my car to start – remind me those things do matter and God hears our prayers.

My gloves are a little worse for the wear, but that’s what happens when we dig deep and work it out. We’re probably going to get a little dirty and maybe leave some lasting marks. Believe me. That same prayer hasn’t been answered before, but this time it was and I am reminded in all things, seemingly big or small to #doitagain. He hears my prayers.

If you’re just joining in from #write31days, I’m so glad you’re here!

Oh Anigie I’m so glad your car prayers were answered. This happened to me before. It was dark, after workout, and I was the only one in the parking lot. Car did not start. I prayed for safety in that lot, and the car would start to get me home (less than 2 miles away). JESUS ANSWERED MY PRAYERS! I had the car checked and I needed a new battery. A woman named Janet once wrote “have you talked to Jesus about this?” This quote resounds in my head that He wants to know what’s going on no matter how big or small… have a blessed day
