What I Wore: Back to School

Here we are in September, and I thought I would do a recap of a recent week of “What I Wore to Work”…a little throw back to the 2014-2015 school year when I recapped every day of what I wore!  That year now seems like a lifetime ago!

Monday was my birthday, and my boss told me when I was sitting at my desk that I looked like I had on a jailbird shirt. That was nice.  Despite that, I love a mixed stripe and this was super comfy workday outfit. Both the t-shirt and the skirt are from everybody’s favorite, Target. 🙂  The skirt is one from the Who What Wear collection a couple of years ago, that I looked and looked at, then finally picked up when it was less than $9.  Those heart earrings are also from Target, I love the Bauble Bar collection there. So many cute earrings for $12!

Tuesday I wore one of my favorites, the faux-jumpsuit, black joggers and black top.  Mostly meaning an entire strip down isn’t required to use the bathroom. These woven earrings are an Amazon find and of course, it’s work, so I had a cardigan along for the day.  Also worth noting, I picked up this sleeveless turtleneck during tax-free weekend, and in a funny coincidence I found a picture the next week from a 2001 gathering with my college besties in which I was wearing a sleeveless black turtleneck.  Old habits die hard.

I’ve been wearing my white pants most every week over the summer. That mean 1/2 of my weekday outfits were chosen…white pants one day and jeans every Thursday. This particular day was simple with taupe blouse and paired with my treat-yo-self Kendra Scott birthday 50% off earrings that I’ve looked at for nearly a year.

First day of school! Even though I wasn’t starting the school year, it was the first day of school and I got to be on a couple of campuses for the start and finish of the first day. This dress was a J Crew outlet clearance and if you haven’t noticed a theme yet…this is day 3 of nude shoes.  🙂  And, yes, that’s me on my first day to Kindergarten with my bus rider note pinned on and my Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox in tow. Surprisingly, I worked the bus ramp on the first day of school and several high schoolers had no idea of what bus they were supposed to ride, maybe they should have had a note pinned on, too.

Jeans Friday! My favorite. Also, I have all the love for blazers and have worn them lots lately, stay tuned.  A white T and jeans has long been a favorite for me and I had a couple of meetings this day, so the blazer dressed it up a little bit.  Oh, and another day of nude shoes, this time wedges. Those fun earrings were a birthday gift. I’ve looked and looked at all kinds of various white fringe earrings and sometimes your besties know you better than you know yourself because I love these!

My other recent favorite…pajama sets! Good sleep makes for good work days, right?  I’ve picked up a couple of new sets over the last several months…

Both of these are from Marshall’s. It’s too bad you can’t really see the colors, because the mix-print set is really pretty blues!

That’s a recent look at what I’ve been wearing. Nothing much new, mostly old favorites and simple pieces from my closet, except a few accessories.  Here’s to good nights of sleep and good work days ahead for your week.
