Friday Favorites: 10.21.22

Hello Friday!

What a glorious week we’ve had that included rain, cold front, beautiful blue skies, Astros and more! All are favorites for me!

First up: Looking back to last Friday and the Big Boo Podcast Live in Brenham with a sweet friend. It was a fun and quick 24 hour road trip with lots of laughs, lessons learned (life, fashion and beauty products) and catching up.  You can find Big Mama, Boo Mama and their Big Boo Cast anywhere you listen to podcasts.

Next: the beautiful fall weather Texas has finally gotten to experience, which made for a perfect afternoon to work outside.

Though, sometimes cold weather requires a little time by the heater for Auggie.

(Or a fire – we just haven’t built one yet)

Another favorite from last week was Saturday.  We spent time with some friends at a District Cross Country Meet, met for lunch to celebrate Angie’s Dad’s birthday, then spent the evening with friends at a winery and dinner after.  We would have taken a little cooler temps, but despite the temps, the day was a favorite!

Monday we woke up to rain…a real favorite, and very grateful, as we’ve had so little rain this year!

This week I got in the kitchen and made a pound cake before dinner with friends.  I saw the recipe on a blog, and the title was “Super Simple Pound Cake”, so worth a test. This one is made in a loaf pan, vs bundt, and it was definitely straight forward and simple. I think when I make it again I might experiment with different flavors, maybe lemon zest or drizzle icing. Or, both!

Of course the Astros are a Robertson favorite…we went to a game for our first date! So, we loved seeing ALDS Game 1 in person, with a 9th inning-2 out-3 run walk-off homer by Yordon, and listening to them on our travels Saturday for 18 innings of baseball ending with a 1-0 win and clinch of the ALDS.  This week we are cheering them on as they begin the ALCS games.

Last favorite of this week was a trip to the pumpkin patch, on a chilly fall evening!  Auggie was a charmer at the pumpkin patch, and we picked out a pumpkin for the front porch.

In case you missed it, Palo Duro Canyon State Park was definitely a favorite, you can read all about it on our Travel Reel post.

I always enjoy Friday Favorites posts, little moments of the week I want to remember and things I’d share if we were sitting down at the table together. Happy Friday and I hope today includes a favorite thing for you!

Blessings,

Angie
