Woven: February 2023

I have been praying for a long time about a place to teach Bible Study again – actually it’s been a couple of years now; after getting married and moving, getting connected to a new church, and finding rhythm in married life.  Along the way there seems like a long list of to-do’s to make things like this happen, and I’ve repeatedly heard “just start – the details will work out”, related to so many different things and I finally took those words to heart last November and started a Community Women’s Bible Study here locally, we met the first time in December.

After praying and settling on a verse/theme to begin – WOVEN was officially named.  It is a monthly community Bible study for women (any age/any stage of life) and Spring 2023 we are studying Colossians 2:2, word by word. I believe strongly in, and have experienced the gift of, being woven together with friends because of our shared faith in Christianity, the capital C Church as a whole, not just the local brick and mortar church.  The gift of those friendships has encouraged my life through many seasons and our lives are very spread out across many miles and within many churches.  My prayer is that this will be a place of encouragement; to draw us closer to Jesus, his purpose for our lives individually and together within our community.

“I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery.” Colossians 2:2 (MSG)

February focused on the first portion of Colossians 2:2, “woven into a tapestry of love” and I recorded this Bible study to share.  The links are below to listen on your favorite podcast app.  If you’re listening, you need to know/have this picture in your mind – as this is the potholder I reference.

Thank you for stopping by, for listening in, and I would love for you to share this message to encourage someone else.
