Here we are for a Tuesday Tip…up today???

FOLDING A FITTED SHEET!!!

WHOOP!

You really CAN fold a fitted sheet! I have full faith in you! Here’s a quick photo step by step.  Get out a sheet and give it a try!  Have questions, leave me a comment and I’ll answer.

Step 1…find the corners. Yes, your fitted sheet has corners. They are where the seam ends where sheet hits corner of your bed.  Tuck pair of corners into themselves.  Inside seams to inside seams.  Smooth them out.

Step 2…you should be able to put your fists into the 2 pairs of corners now.

Step 3…fold right over left, or left over right, whichever is your dominant hand 🙂 and now all four corners are tucked into one. Smooth out your sheet, including the “flat end” that doesn’t have elastic.

Step 4…lay the sheet down on table or bed, somewhere with a little room for folding.

Step 5…fold the bottom 1/3 up.

Step 6…fold (see, you’re doing it!) the top 1/3 over bottom.

Step 7…fold rectangle into 1/3’s (twin or queen) or 1/4’s (king), to match the size of your folded flat sheet.

Stack your FOLDED fitted sheet with the flat sheet and give yourself a pat on the back and show off your skills!

Thank you to my Mama for teaching me this skill by means of my laundry folding chores growing up!  I also learned how to fold towels and washcloths to all stack the same direction, which I still do to this day.

My mom and dad instilled the craft of folding a fitted sheet in all 3 kids when we were young. But I have friends who can’t do it… wadding it into a ball is the preferred method (cringe). Your photos are great! Auggie is a great helper!
