2017 Every day. (11.12.17)

I love taking pictures, the every day, the mundane, the big, the fun, the celebrating, even the hard. Images I want to remember.  So, this year, I’m documenting my everyday. A photo a day for my FB/IG and then writing the stories of each on my blog weekly.

My church recently launched a 5pm service, commonly called “The Five” and I love it.  Bonus, there’s always treats at The Five, and this week included iced blue “5” donuts.  🙂  #churchperks
Also, Sunday afternoons and nights have looked a lot like this, and working to learn this Accounting Management course.  Auggie is very entertained….
…as long as there are some breaks for fetch.  He hasn’t figured out how to do Excel homework problems.

I was sitting in class Monday night listening to a marketing overview presentation about Southwest Airlines, which I love, and I was also thinking about when my next Southwest trip will be! But also, I’m looking forward to getting to be home without deadlines constantly running in my head!!

Tuesday I attended a meeting at NASA and we got a tour of the Vehicle Mockup Facility that includes Astronaut training in full size mock up robots, space vehicles and pieces of the International Space Station.  Pretty amazing to get to see!  Also, pretty paralyzing thinking about those people being crammed in those tiny spaces for weeks at a time and my claustrophobia would definitely prevent me from ever being an Astronaut, and the fact I’m 5’9″, because apparently Astronauts are small. #funspacefacts
Here’s one of the space vehicles…
And, this is part of the ISS mock-up, every piece includes flags of each country whose space stations contributed.  Also, the parts are not tested to connect, but are only sent to ISS and connected there. Amazing communication through multiple languages, scientists and collaboration from around the world.

I delivered a professional development for our District new CTE teachers.  It is hard to believe just four years ago at this time I was at my desk at the end of every school day trying to figure out what I would do the next day for 5 classes. I always share the parts of my story that were hard when I started teaching because stories matter and others need to know you’ve been in their shoes!

Thursday night we had our Polished Houston dinner and I got to hang out with a few friends after.  Honestly, in this season I’ve felt lonely at time, not because I’m single, but because I just haven’t been able to see my friends and spend time with them. This week I had 2 dinners and got to visit with another friend, so I was really grateful for that time.  I also needed a new memory at this particular place, because the last time I was there was with my dear friend Ashley who had passed away just one month before on October 15th. I was extra grateful for laughs and this time on Thursday night.

My Friday nights are lit.  Just kidding.  That’s an urban dictionary term “the kids” use, and if you’re seeing it regularly from your kids, you might want to check out what it really means.  Friday nights for me in this season are typically homework and I was eating leftovers, working on Excel and wondering why people put carrots in rice. Carrots belong on snowman noses, not in Spanish rice. Or at least not in mine. 🙂 These Christmas plates are super cute though, and you can find at your local Target for $2.49 each.  And, let your kids make carrot noses too, which I’m sure is the sign of dinner that’s “lit”.  KIDDING.

Saturday was a treat because my Mom stopped by with extra cargo for a visit and lunch!  Favorite about this pic? We are all one step above pajamas, and we all went to lunch like that. These littles are growing so fast, and every stage is fun with them!  They might have to become the “little bigs” soon. 🙂
Saturday morning was also the first day I’ve slept in with no alarm in I don’t know when. And, got to do one of my favorite things…sit on the couch with a magazine. Auggie also got to do his favorite thing, security patrol on the trail. What’s in my cup? The pink drink that changed my life.
After lunch I made it by the library to pick up my books. I love walking in and these books being on the shelf, ready for pick-up. Also, this is my break reading as soon as this semester ends!! Anyone read the Winter series by Elin Hilderbrand?
This year is going quick! Hard to believe only 6 weeks remain in this year of daily photos and weekly posts!

Thank you for reading, and would love for you to stay in touch!
