Holiday Memories: Christmas 2021

The Christmas season has been full of lots of fun activities and memories with our families and friends. Here’s a look back at the season this year….

We “payed up” on our Astros vs Braves World Series bet with sweet friends for a date night out early in December.

I had a couple of parties with friends and my annual college friends ornament exchange and lunch.

We had a fun Holidate Weekend in Dallas + a visit to Santa’s Wonderland.

We celebrated the season with gifts and played with toys with littles.

We spent an afternoon at the Zoo during our Christmas break.

We had a few days of downtime at home during our break.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at the 4G starting the celebrations with a Christmas Eve breakfast, a long standing tradition with family friends and a sweet new baby joined this year!

I babysat his Mama, and it is so fun to see her as a Mama and celebrate his first Christmas!

We went to Christmas Eve Service, where the prettiest nativity was out on the lawn of the church and we had an old fashioned Christmas Carol sing along with people calling out songs from the congregation and singing them, with my favorite piano player as the music.

We came home for dinner and gifts around the tree at the 4G.

Auggie was pretty happy with hot cocoa from MeMe and PaPa!

Auggie stayed at the 4G for an extended holiday when we headed home on Christmas. We celebrated at home Christmas night together and opened up our gifts.

Early on the 26th we were off to Park City, UT for a trip with the Robertson family. Cody learned  to ski, we had a fun date night out, explored Park City, went on a carriage ride, went tubing and spent time together as a family with lots of memories made.

We flew back on New Years Eve and had a quiet night at home, unpacking and happy to be back to our home.  New Years Day I cooked up my Papa’s favorite black eyed pea casserole (picture from 2012), cornbread & cabbage to start our year. Cody kept a fire going, Auggie was happy to be home and finally got to open up his Christmas presents.

The last celebration was with the littles due to travel + illness, so we wrapped up Christmas the first weekend in January after cheering on the girls at a basketball game.

A fun season of celebrating, most of all remembering Jesus is the reason to celebrate and our hope is found in Him alone – not the gifts, the going or the doing, simply in Him.  We wish you a great year ahead!

Blessings,
Angie & Cody
