Commit 30: May
In case you missed it in January, I’m taking 2017 in 30 day increments (well, sometimes 30, or 31 or 28) and committing to something for 30 days.
May…30 days of jogging.
If you’ve read here really any at all, you know Auggie and I go for a walk every day. There’s probably been less than 10 days over the last almost year that we haven’t gone for a walk, due to rain. I used to jog pretty regularly, just 3 miles or sometimes a little more, but since I got Auggie I’ve pretty much just been walking. But, I know Auggie can be a jogger too, so in May we worked on it!
Our typical walks are about 1.5 miles to almost 3 miles, so I started jogging a portion of our walk each day. On long walks, we jogged more, and usually it was about half of our walk that I jogged.
Auggie loves being outside, so he is up for a walk or a jog. By about mid-month, we were jogging nearly all of the walk, no matter what the distance was. He does pretty good at not crossing over in front of me, but still likes to stay out in front of me a bit, not exactly beside me.
Thankfully most evenings in May the weather cooled off, but there were a lot of hot and sweaty days!
Auggie took a lot of evening naps in the spot on the floor where the AC blows right on him!
We cooled off lots of days on the patio, this particular day was super humid and that’s quite the “sparkle” on my legs….aka full on sweat!
There were lots of beautiful days and now that we are officially hitting summer, we’ll only jog short distances or on cooler evening walks.
This 30 day commit was a good one! And, got me back to doing something I also enjoy!
So, that was my Commit for May
Spoiler Alert: October will be #write31days.
Yes, I’m already thinking about a topic.
Stay in touch…
Blessings!
