Commit 30: December
In case you missed it in January, I’m taking 2017 in 30 day increments (well, sometimes 30, or 31 or 28) and committing to something for 30 days.
December: 30 Days of Lettering
I thought about doing this 30 days of lettering several different months, but it kept getting pushed back. So, December seemed like a good time. Since I haven’t been taking orders for custom projects I haven’t been lettering regularly, and I like to keep in practice.
I often will doodle on work papers, in meetings, and Christmas lyrics were on my mind. This season, I kept thinking about how weary our world seems, so many things, and despite the troubles of this world, we rejoice in the birth of our Savior, Jesus.
I love lettering snail mail prizes…
And, I letter every week on my church notes. This week was particularly sweet because I had a little letterer beside me.
This might have been my favorite word to letter this month! Because “the list” of school projects was FINISHED!!
I also practiced a little lettering on the Instagram stories. Speaking of Instagram, it’s amazing how they can “suggest” things to you that are typically right in your line of interest, like the Apple iPad lettering people do. I’m really curious about that! It’s on my post-graduation list of things to find out about! Until then, IG stories will do!
I lettered name tags.
And, did make a custom piece. If you want to find out more about this, click here to listen in to the story of these words.
I got to update one of my favorite chalkboards for my bestie’s family.
I also got out the Crayola markers for a few days…
I lettered nearly 60 Christmas cards. Full disclosure, I took a couple of days off from lettering because I did a few days of A LOT of lettering.
This might have been my favorite lettering of the month, I’ve thought about these words over and over.
Of course I did some Christmas lettering…
And, more notes in Church on Christmas Eve…
The final picture of 2017’s photo every day included lettering too
Stay in touch…
Blessings!
